PAYMENTS
If paying by check, cash or PayPal, payment for service is to be paid in full no later than the first day of service. No payments are processed until all visits are complete. If paying by credit card your card will not be charged until after the completion of visits. For late payments a $25.00 late fee may be added to your invoice. Subsequent booking requests will not be confirmed until outstanding balances have been paid in full. Tales of the Kitty accepts Visa/Master Card/Discover/
CANCELLATIONS
24-hours notice is required for cancellation of scheduled service, or Client will be charged the rate equal to one visit. Seven-days notice is required for changes or cancellations on the following holiday periods: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Cancellations occurring less than 7 days prior to those holidays will incur a charge equal to 50% of the originally scheduled service. No credits will be given for early returns during holiday periods.
LAST MINUTE REQUESTS
Tales of the Kitty understands last minute requests are sometimes unavoidable. Requests for visits with less than 48-hours notice will be assessed a late-booking fee of $20.
HOLIDAY SURCHARGES AND CHANGES/ CANCELLATIONS
A holiday surcharge of $10 will apply to visits made on the following holidays. 100% of the holiday surcharge is paid to the sitter.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Weekend (Saturday – Monday)
President’s Day Weekend (Saturday – Monday)
Easter Weekend (Saturday – Sunday)
Bay to Breakers (May 19, 2024)
Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday – Monday)
Independence Day Holiday (July 4-7, 2024)
San Francisco Marathon (July 28, 2024)
Labor Day Weekend (Saturday – Monday)
Columbus Day Weekend (Saturday - Monday)
Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday – Sunday)
Christmas/New Years (December 21, 2024 - January 1, 2025)

SUPPLY PICKUP
Client agrees to reimburse Tales of the Kitty for the purchase of materials necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties, and for any emergency expenses incurred. In the event Tales of the Kitty purchases necessary supplies a $45 supply pick up fee will be assessed.
KEY POLICY
Two working sets of keys should be provided during the initial meeting between Client and Tales of the Kitty. (If you are requesting twice a day visits 2 sets of keys must be provided.) If you are unable to provide keys at this time Tales of the Kitty has two drop-off locations. If a sitter must make a special trip for the primary purpose of picking up or dropping off keys, a charge of $45 will be assessed, per trip. Should keys become unusable, lock malfunctions, Client fails to leave a key or for any other reasons beyond Pet Sitter's control, Tales of the Kitty has Client’s authorization to employ the services of a locksmith to gain entry into a Client's home on Client's behalf. Client will be responsible for all expenses incurred and reimburse Tales of the Kitty upon return.
VETERINARY CARE
If your pet requires medical attention Client understands and agrees that attempts will be made to contact Client or Client’s Emergency Contact. If Client is unreachable, Tales of the Kitty has permission to authorize any care that the veterinarian deems necessary for pet's health, safety and survival. Client agrees to reimburse Tales of the Kitty for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence. Tales of the Kitty assumes no responsibility for the actions and decisions of the veterinary staff.
ACCESS OF YOUR HOME BY OTHERS
If any friends/neighbors/family members will be entering your home while we are caring for your pet(s), Client agrees to notify Tales of the Kitty of any other individuals allowed access to the premises during the time of contracted care. Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Tales of the Kitty in the case where multiple individuals have access to the premises.
URGENT HOME CARE
In the event that Client’s home is damaged during the service period, Tales of the Kitty will first attempt contact with Clients and/or Emergency Contact(s) to establish a plan of action. If neither Client, nor Emergency Contact(s), can be reached, Client authorizes Tales of the Kitty to take appropriate steps to return the property to a safe, secured and/or stable condition at Client’s expense. Examples of such urgent home care include but are not limited to earthquake damage, window breakage, water damage due to plumbing problems, forced entry, etc.
